Our Farm Shop

Proper local food, grown and made by people who care — right here in the Devon countryside.

Our Story

The Tucker family has been farming Devon since the 1400s. That connection to the land — to what it produces, and to the people who work it — is something we carry with us in everything we do at Bow.

Our farm shop is growing, and we're genuinely excited about where it's heading. Our aim is simple: to bring together the very best of what Devon's farmers, growers, bakers, brewers, and makers produce, and make it easy for you to buy it on your doorstep. Real food, with real provenance, from real local people.

Produce from our local suppliers is also used wherever possible in the kitchen of our Waterside Café. When produce is seasonal and Devon-grown, it tastes completely different. We think you'll agree.

What you'll find in our farm shop

Fresh vegetables & salads

Seasonal vegetables, all grown in Devon or sourced from local farms — you'll taste the difference. Expect to find what's in season rather than a fixed list year-round, because that's how real food works.

Eggs

Fresh free-range eggs from Yokel Farm, Winkleigh, just 15 miles away. The kind of eggs where the difference in flavour is immediately obvious.

Dairy & cheese

A carefully chosen selection of Devon dairy and cheese — from creamy clotted cream to proper farmhouse cheddar. Devon is one of the great dairy counties of England, and we think that deserves celebrating.

Meat & charcuterie

Locally reared meat and cured products from Devon butchers who take real pride in their animals and their craft. Slow-grown, well-reared, and full of flavour.

Bread & baked goods

Freshly baked breads made on site by our in-house baker, as well as home-made doughnuts, cookies and treats. Simply delicious and zero food miles.

Preserves & condiments

Devon-made jams, marmalades, chutneys, pickles, and relishes — the kind of things made in small batches from real ingredients, that make a simple piece of cheese on toast feel like something special.

Local drinks

From Devon apple juice and elderflower cordial to local ales, ciders, and soft drinks — we stock a growing range of drinks made by Devon producers. Devon has a brilliant craft drinks scene, and we love supporting it.

Honey & natural products

Our truly local Devon honey comes from Devon Valley Honey in Thorverton, made from bees using local hedgerows and flowers. Supporting Devon's beekeepers is something we feel strongly about.

Gifts & hampers

A thoughtfully chosen selection of Devon produce that makes a genuinely lovely gift — whether you're buying for someone who loves food, has just moved to the area, or simply deserves something a bit special.

Why local produce matters to us

When you buy from our farm shop, you're not just getting better-tasting food. You're supporting Devon's farming families, reducing food miles, and keeping money in the local economy. You're choosing something made with care by someone who knows your county as well as you do.

We know the people who grow and make what we sell. We visit suppliers. We taste everything before we stock it. And we're always happy to tell you the story behind what you're buying — just ask.

From farm shop to café plate

Our Waterside Café and our farm shop share the same philosophy: the best food comes from the best ingredients, and the best ingredients come from Devon. Much of what you see in the farm shop also features in the café kitchen — which means when you eat with us, you're tasting the same provenance.

When something is particularly special and seasonal, you'll often see it on the café specials board the same week it arrives in the shop. It's one of the things we're proudest of.
